CEO of Lagos State Board of Internal Revenue,TUNDE FOWLER,set to retire

The chief Executive Officer of (LIRS) Lagos Internal Revenue Service, Tunde Fowler set to retire after 9 years of meritocracy service. The Lagos Tax Chief as he is often called was assigned in November 2005 by Lagos State Government ,to make sure that every Lagos residents pay tax. In his tenure, the board of Internal Revenue became autonomous with the passage into law in January,2006 of the Lagos Revenue Administration Law (the first revenue board to be autonomous in Nigeria) and Dr. Fowler was appointed as the pioneer Chief Executive Officer. Within his tenure 2006-2014, he has been able to achieve increase in internal generated revenue and sound enlightenment campaign on tax administration in Africa. With these, he has succeded in making Lagos state financially independent on monthly allocation of revenue from Federal Govt. He seems to be a fulfilled man as he has succeeded in making the people understand tax administration and it essentials. We wish him success in his endeavors.
