After the victory at the Africa Women Championship, AWC,making it seventh time for Nigeria at the 9 edition of the tournament, the Super Falcons of Nigeria have requested for rewards, more than what they had been receiving the years before. According to the press, one of the players, Ngozi Okobi said that they would like the Presidency to celebrate them more than the previous years, so that they can put in more effort for next year’s FIFA Women World Cup. They were specific in their request ,as they asked to be rewarded with Cash, Cars and Landed properties to express gratitude for the great success they achieved in Namibia; beating 2-0 Cameroon in the final Nigeria’s Sports minister, Tammy Danagogo had hinted that the Girls would be rewarded handsomely after the final last Saturday
It is however revealed that the girls got bonuses amounting to N2.98m ($18,000) per player as quoted by AfricanFootball,
General Secretary of the NFF, Musa Amadu disclosed: "For the group stage matches, the girls got $3000 each.
"They got $4000 for winning the
semifinals and $5000 for lifting the
cup.
“So in total, they Were giving $18,000
bonus aside their camp
allowances."
